PLAYER OF THE WEEK
BOB DONATO, BUCKNELL Sr.,
OF, Williamsport, Pa.
Donato went 10-for-21 (.476) in Bucknell's
four-game series at James Madison, helping
the Bison win the final three games of the
series by a combined score of 43-18. Donato
drove in 11 runs, including eight in
Bucknell's 22-6 win on Saturday. He went
4-for-7 in the game with a double, two
homers and three runs scored. He also
homered in the series opener. In the series
finale on Sunday, Donato went 3-for-5 with a
double, three runs scored and two stolen
bases. He now has 20 career home runs and is
three away from moving into the League's
top-10 career home run list. This is
Donato's first weekly award this season and
second of his career.
PITCHER OF THE WEEK
CHRIS ROWLEY, ARMY Jr.,
RHP, Duluth, Ga.
Rowley pitched a seven-inning complete-game
shutout in a 5-0 win over George Washington
Saturday, capping off a doubleheader sweep.
Rowley struck out six while limiting George
Washington to just two hits and one walk. He
retired the side in the third, fourth and
fifth innings, while recording 11 straight
outs. With the win, Rowley lowered his ERA
to 0.77. He's struck out nine and allowed
just one earned run in 11⅔ innings of work.
This is his first award in 2012 and his
second career weekly award.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
EVAN OCELLO, HOLY CROSS Fr.,
OF, Camarillo, Calif.
Ocello had a huge debut weekend for Holy
Cross, going 5-for-11 (.455) in the
Crusaders' opening series against No. 4
Texas A&M. Ocello went 3-for-4 with a
double, a stolen base and a run scored in
the Crusaders' 3-2 loss in 11 innings to the
Aggies on Friday in the series opener. On
Saturday, he went 2-for-4 with a double, a
walk, an RBI and a run scored as Holy Cross
upset the nation's No. 4-ranked team 7-3 in
10 innings.
HONORABLE MENTIONS
KEVIN MCKAGUE, ARMY Sr.,
INF, Fayetteville, N.C.
McKague went 5-for-9 (.556) over the weekend
as Army took two of three from George
Washington. McKague did the majority of his
damage in the series opener, going 4-for-4
with a double, a homer, four RBIs and three
runs scored.
